This is a heavy duty material, 5mm thick and 800 grams per square metre - a lot more dense than most of the hessian mulch mats on the market. If the main aim is to suppress weeds then this is the product for you. The jute hessian mulch matting will last around 2 years, depending on where it's deployed. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur wool-based mulch products are excellent at retaining water, and release nutrients as they biodegrade down. They last around a year. The raw wool is the most cost effective option but can look a bit like a sheep has exploded in your veg bed.
