Laundry Mac™ Outdoor Laundry Cover

Energy saving

Energy saving

The Laundry Mac™ is a deceptively simple but effective way of protecting your laundry from showers when it’s hanging on a rotary dryer (whirligig!). It is a large circle of waterproof, breathable fabric with weights around the edge, that fastens onto three-armed and four-armed rotary dryers. It is propped in the centre so that water runs off. It is literally like putting a waterproof coat over your laundry, protecting it from rain showers and enabling you to get your laundry dried outside whatever the weather.

Off to work for the day, and won't be there to take the laundry in when the forecast shower this afternoon passes through? No problem, leave the Laundry Mac™ to protect it!

Just hung the laundry out and it looks like rain? No problem, flip the Laundry Mac ™ over it!

No time to hang the laundry out in the morning, and it's 11 o'clock at night? No problem, put it out for the night with a Laundry Mac™ protecting it!

Love the birds in your garden but get fed up with them pooping on your nice clean washing? No problem, hang a Laundry Mac™ over it!

Lucky enough to live somewhere hot and sunny, where your laundry dries in minutes but gets bleached by the sun? No problem, put a Laundry Mac™ over it!

Awful!

I've tried various configurations but the cover just doesn't work.

I've tried different height supports, higher and lower configurations, pegging the outside, tying the outside, ... nothing works.

There's not enough weight at the edges so the sides just lift with a little wind.

Water collects in the inevitable lower areas when the cover isn't tight. Pulling the cover to remove the pooled water gets you soaked, there's no way to avoid it.

I wish I could return the cover, I just can't use it. But I've spent so much time trying different configurations to try to make it work that I've probably missed the return window.

How can anybody make this cover work?

Does exactly what it's supposed to!

I looked at the this type of product for about 6 months before settling on and buying the Laundry Mac (larger size) as line-drying is always the best. I was impressed by the quality and weight of the material and bungees which all seemed to be suitably rugged and up to the job. Having used it now a number of times, it does precisely what you expect and keeps rain off the laundry. I would have given it 5* except for the two following minor niggles:
1). I did find that positioning the Mac over the rotary airer required a certain amount of 'flinging' to get it on in the first instance, so keeping it partially folded and then spreading it out to get it attached works better; otherwise it's a bit like trying to put a sheet on a kingsize bed, except that the bed is at head height.
2). I consider the prop is essential for helping rain run off the cover but it would be even better if it came with a ground socket for installation, so that it can turn entirely freely the wind moves the airer whereas just freestanding in the ground means that the material at the apex of the prop can become a little snagged.
Great job, thanks!

Great product

Very sturdy and well made. Haven’t tried it yet as I may need a prop. It seems a very good answer to the weather where we are. Looking forward to testing it out.
