Can you tell me a bit more about each of the products in the Patterns in Nature Kit?
This Patterns in Nature Kit comes in a mini hessian bag - the perfect size to carry everything you need to be able to spot patterns in nature! Included in this kit are:
- A beautifully polished, fly-eye kaleidoscope, made from natural beech wood. Bring it up to your eye and look at any surface to see it reflect the view back to you as a perfectly symmetrical pattern
- Patterns in Nature Cards - slid nicely into a natural cotton pouch, you'll find 9 cards showing patterns that have evolved in real life, from the spiral on a snail's shell, to the beautiful hexagonal shape of honeycomb. Why don't you try and find more examples of natural patterns?
- Patterns in Nature Guide - a small guide, packed full of tips and information about what kind of patterns you can find in nature, and where!
Who would this be appropriate for?
This kit is appropriate for children 6 years and over, interested in natural patterns or the outdoors. Why not go on an adventure walk and see how many naturally fascinating patters you can find? What do they look like through your kaleidoscope? And which one is your favourite?
Why is it important to get children to play outdoors?
Here at Chimney Sheep, we see the value in nature play! Being outdoors is great for our mental and physical growth, education, and understanding of the world and our place in it. We want to make playing outside fun and interesting by doing something a little different. Our range of kits will provide an activity for all interests. Whether your child is arty or sporty, into bugs or flowers, we'll have a kit for them. Providing children with all they need to play and learn, leaving an enduring connection with nature and all it holds!
Research founded by The Wildlife Trust found children’s well-being increased after they had spent time connecting with nature. Children have reported their experience outside made them more confident and capable of doing new things when they tried, learned something new, and formed better relationships with classmates. More benefits of outdoor play can be found here.
