We have a wide range of products that help to conserve water, restrict weeds, protect the roots, and biodegrade down to provide valuable nutrients. We have mulch mats made in Yorkshire out of recycled coffee sacks. These come in a range of sizes depending on the plants, or you can use an entire roll for larger areas. This is a heavy duty material, 5mm thick and 800 grams per square metre - a lot more dense than most of the hessian mulch mats on the market. If the main aim is to suppress weeds then this is the product for you. The jute hessian mulch matting will last around 2 years, depending on where it's deployed.
Our wool-based mulch products are excellent at retaining water, and release nutrients as they biodegrade down. They last around a year. The raw wool is the most cost effective option but can look a bit like a sheep has exploded in your veg bed. If you want a neater product that sits well and doesn't get blown around by the wind, then the felt shillies are perfect. They last a surprisingly long time - you should get more than a year out of these.
