Sheep Wool Thermal Insulation
We have three different types of thermal sheep wool insulation ranges, each with different thicknesses and densities. Our Comfort, Optimal and Premium insulations are highly effective at helping a house feel warmer thanks to the hygroscopic properties of wool. The insulation you require will depend on where you plan on using your insulation. Take a look at our table below to discover the best insulation for your needs.

Smaller Bits of Insulation
Our thermal sheep wool insulation are sold in packs of two or three rolls, designed to cover large areas. We often get asked by our customers if they can have ‘just a bit’ or a ‘small roll’ to use for various, smaller insulating projects. That is why we have added these nifty smaller bits of insulation to our range.

What is Sheep Wool Insulation?
Sheep Wool Insulation is an effective and sustainable way to insulate your home and can be used as thermal insulation and sound insulation. The insulation products in the range can be used as wall insulation, loft insulation, roof insulation, floor insulation and underlay. Our insulation is made of 100% wool and contains no plastic additives. Instead, the wool is uniquely layered during its manufacture to ensure the insulation remains ‘lofty’ over the lifetime of the product. All of our insulation is treated with Ionic Protect® to ensure it is 100% resistant to moth infestations.
Sheep wool insulation is a more environmentally friendly insulation than mineral rock wool insulation or foam board insulation. his is because sheep wool is a renewable resource and when eventually disposed of the wool insulation can be composted down.
Why choose Sheep Wool Insulation?

Qualities of wool
Wool is a fantastic natural insulation! Not only does act as a thermal and sound insulation but it also has a whole host of other benefits for your home:
- Breathable - wool fibres have millions of tiny pockets of air, allowing it to absorb and release moisture without compromising its thermal efficiency.
- Hygroscopic - as humidity of air rises and falls wool fibres absorb and release water vapour. Heat is generated and retained during the absorption phase, which makes wool a natural insulator.
- Hypoallergenic - wool is not known to cause allergies and does not promote the growth of bacteria.
- Reduces VOCs - wool has an amazing way of purifying the air. Studies have shown that VOCs bind permanently to wool fibres, taking them out of the atmosphere and making the home environment healthier.
- Naturally fire retardant - with a high water and nitrogen content, wool is naturally flame-retardant and has a far higher ignition threshold than many other fibres.
- Sustainable - wool is a renewable source and at the end of its long life will compost down.

Uses of wool insulation
Whatever you need your insulation for and wherever you intend to use it in your property, our Sheep Wool Insulation range will have something suitable to ensure you can insulate your property sustainably! Due to its breathability, Sheep Wool Insulation is particularly good for older properties. Take a look at our house graphic to see which insulation product is most suitable for your project.
