Sustainable

Made from beautiful, naturally porous terracotta, Olla are a fantastic method of ensuring a constant trickling water supply makes its way to your plants roots as and when they need it.

Once filled up, the Olla watering pot allows water to flow out into the soil surrounding your plants roots. It's a clever little system because it works through the power of water tension and osmosis. Water enters the soil from the watering jug at the same rate it's being pulled out by the plants (or escaping via evaporation). This means you're at no risk of over-watering by introducing an Olla to your garden, vegetable patch or allotment.

They're made from entirely naturally occurring terracotta clay, they're unglazed and untreated. A wonderful nature-friendly addition to your garden supplies.

We have four volumes of Olla available. Our 4-litre Ollas are packed with 1kg of sheep wool to protect them during transportation. This can also be used on your garden as a fantastic mulch or to keep slugs at bay!

Buy Land Plant Trees

At the core of Chimney Sheep is our Community Interest Company, Buy Land Plant Trees (BLPT). For every purchase you make with us, 20% of the profit facilitates the planting of trees on agriculturally poor land in Cumbria.

We set up BLPT in 2019 as a ‘boots on the ground’ tree planting initiative. The company is run by us and the tree planting is done by us. We do it to help you and us to reduce our impact on the planet. The trees we plant reduce CO2 output as well as contribute to the reduction of flooding and the creation of habitats for wildlife.

BLPT isn’t a tick box exercise nor a distant and detached carbon offset company. In fact, this is as much part of our business as the products we sell and is an integral part of our ethos. We are big believers in the phrase ‘think globally, act locally’ and want to make a genuine difference

The ollas are lovely and work we. I put 3 in a large 4ft by 4ft raised bed. The company were efficient and, even when I made a mistake with my address, redelivery was quick.
I would definetly recommend them.

So pleased to have found these, they've been brilliant for my allotment in this hot weather. I got four of the 2 litre ones and they've still had some water in them after 4 days in hot summer weather so I'm really pleased as I wasn't sure how fast it would leak out. The plants around them are healthier and the soil is damp so they are working really well. They arrived really carefully packaged too.

Absolute blessing to have in the hot spell on a south facing slope. Will invest in more as more of the garden gets developed.

One arrived cracked but the Chimney Sheep couldn't have been quicker to send one out as a replacement. Definitely recommended!

These are excellent. Good quality and arrived well packaged. I bought two of the 2lt ollas to burry around my tomato plants and they are working well keeping to soil moist. I see now that there are also 3lt pots available. Will definitely be getting more!
