A little bit of fabric with a lot of potential!
If you've ever admired our luxury dog beds, you might recognise this fabric. It was one of the colourways we used for our beds, and now you can get your hands on the fabric itself and put it to work on one of your own projects.
So, what are you going to make?
Well, bags are an obvious one. It's a sturdy 255gsm woven fabric, so it's got enough substance to make a bag that won't immediately collapse into a sad little heap. It's also good for upholstery, cushions, home decor, and anything else that needs some fabric with a bit of oomph behind it. But really, we're not here to tell you what to make, that's the fun part!
And then there's the pattern. This organic fabric is reversible, so you get two looks for the price of one! There's either a grey herringbone with black flowers on one side and white flowers on the other, or blue herringbone with white or dark blue flowers. This makes four colourways for you to choose from - isn't it nice to have options!
The material itself is made from 100% certified organic cotton, responsibly sourced from India. It's made on a power loom, which gives it a regular texture and uniform finish throughout. You won't get the loose floats you can sometimes find in hand-loomed fabric, so the whole thing has a nice, even feel.
It measures 120cm from selvedge to selvedge and is sold by the linear metre, meaning you can order just what you need for your project. Although, obviously, if you're the sort of person who buys fabric because you might make something with it one day, we absolutely won't judge.
What about washing?
When it comes to washing, keep it a gentle 30°C. We have noticed some shrinkage after washing, so if your project needs to be particularly precise, we'd recommend washing the fabric before you start cutting.
We always love seeing what our customers use our products for, whether it's this, our washed Herdwick wool, or our Hessian Coffee Sacks - send us some photos or tag us on social media!
