These woolly tree spats are 10mm thick and made from proper Cumbrian Herdwick wool with a hessian scrim through the middle for extra strength. Think of them as cosy slippers for your trees - they cuddle round the base, locking in moisture, keeping weeds out, and insulating roots so they're snug in the frost and cool in the summer. As they slowly break down, they feed the soil with a trickle of natural goodness, leaving nothing nasty behind. No plastics and no nonsense - just good honest wool doing what wool does best.

Each mat is sold individually.

Any advice welcome

We laid the mulch mats with excitement around our trees to find the following day they had been thrown all over the garden we assumed by a fox or badger. We put them back to find the same thing the following morning so we put in tent pegs to hold them down. We finally found out it was rooks etc who were taking them for nesting or just for the joy of tearing the mats apart! Any advice on what to do please? I did notice slug trails on the mats though. I haven't tried the shelties in case the rooks ruin my plants.

Great item

Arrived promptly, looks great, as described. I put some of them around my plants, the only problem is obviously the cats love them and have shredded some of them 🙄 hopping they leave the others alone 🤞

Good job

I put them around my very young trees and vines. I know it is organic material and will disintegrate but I will put again when this happens.

Birds love it!

Unfortunately as well as being a mulch mat it appears to be great nesting material so a lot of the wool has disappeared! Hopefully the hessian will work!

Much better than i was expecting, a thin flat disc but what i got are solid 1cm thick reinforced wool discs perfect to keep the slugs away from me strawberries. 🥰 highly recommended.
