Brilliant Draughty Excluder
I am so pleased with my fire surround draught excluder, we have noticed a big improvement in the temperature of our living room now, it stops the draughts brilliantly.

3cm short of perfect!
Such a simple idea, and very effective. My fire surround has a curved top, so in order to get the best fit, I've had to pull the cover upwards slightly which leaves a small gap at the bottom. Not ideal but I'm sure I can just add a small extra strip of fabric to the base to fill the gap.
Storm Éowyn is currently raging and trying to suck it up the chimney, but it's holding in place and amply demonstrating how good it is at preventing all the lovely room heat from going to waste. The room is heating up way quicker, and retaining heat so radiator doesn't have to turn on and off as much.
