Tell me about these sustainable recycled paper kitchen towels
Our 100% recycled kitchen towels are made in the UK from paper recycled locally. They're not crafted from recycled towels, but rather a blend of consumer and trade waste paper processed without chlorine. Each towel is 3-ply and comes either in a convenient pack of 2, or as a jumbo roll.
Even though these kitchen towels are crafted from recycled paper, you won't be able to tell from the quality and thickness they offer.
Why is it important to switch from regular kitchen towels to recycled ones?
Growing trees for years just to turn them into kitchen towels doesn't quite add up, does it? Even with sustainably managed forests replanting trees, there's still a big environmental impact. Since only 13% of UK land is woodland, relying on imported timber raises concerns. Using land for trees instead of crops can work, especially in areas unfit for farming. That's why recycling paper, especially for kitchen towels, just makes sense. After all, with 80% of paper in the UK being recycled, why not make the most of our recycling efforts?
How do these recycled paper kitchen towels compare to bamboo kitchen towels?
Bamboo kitchen towels initially seem eco-friendly, but upon closer inspection, most bamboo is grown overseas, increasing carbon footprint due to transportation. Our recycled paper kitchen towels, however, are locally made from locally sourced recycled paper, minimising environmental impact. They're as eco-friendly as kitchen towels can get without resorting to using leaves or moss.
