We are Chimney Sheep. We create sustainable solutions.
We have been using hay bales together with Herdwick wool in jute bags to control water flow through a deep ditch that runs along the edge of our peatland. We buy the washed wool so we won't be importing anything unwanted into the ecology. The wool arrives soon after we order, neatly boxed. We're already seeing greater biodiversity of plants and animals in the ditch and more water flowing across the peat instead of draining away from it.
This environmentally friendly sheep's wool chimney draught excluder is amazingly effective. My house is several degrees warmer! I think you should try to join up with the National Trust as you are making heritage products locally. Brilliant
It’s a nice thick, heavy bed. Dog appeared very happy with it. Doesn’t slide around easily on the floor like a lot of lighter weight beds. Cover looks nice, and is removable to wash, but we’ve got other blankets/towels on top that we can wash more often.
Though this would be perfect for sewing but found it too thick for what i wanted to do but a brilliant matting for blocking my crouchet pieces. Has im making persion tiles perfect for chair upholstery also would work for lining out vans and super at a fraction of cost of sythetic fleece
Bought as a liner for my old sheepskin slippers, as the wool had worn out so the slippers were loose. Liners are perfect - they are very warm and thick so have solved the looseness problem, and stopped me throwing out a good pair of slippers.
Purchased two pairs of these and so far impressed! Fast dispatch and easy to trim for size. Using them in my wellies and very comfortable. No cold weather as yet, but these should keep my feet toasty! A great use of a wonderful and natural product.
Have an old pony with EMS, Cushing and sometimes very sore feet - I put these in the bottom of her Hoof It boots and they offer a lovely cushioned base
These insoles are brilliant! So good in slippers and they flattened down a bit so I found they weren't too bulky in my walking shoes and ankle boots. Best of all in Wellies for wet days!
I bought a pair for one of my daughters for popping in her wellies for dog walks. Now I'm going to order some more for the other daughter to help keep her feet warm when she is watching her sons play football matches in cold wet Wales in winter...
Early days as it’s not full yet but seeing this in the garden makes me smile. I’ve used above ground worm composters before with limited success. This seems so much more logical and it’s certainly more aesthetically pleasing. Currently placed in a heavy clay bed which is full of worms so I’m hoping they flourish.
A large number of composts still contain peat. he use of peat in compost comes at huge environmental cost, from the destruction of habitats, to the release of huge amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses. We think it’s time we took the leap to entirely peat-free compost – let us tell you why!
The environmental price tag of laundry is rather hefty. Washing machines, driers and heated towel rails guzzle electricity, while chemical laden detergents wreak havoc on aquatic environments. Our comprehensive guide to swaps and changes you can make to ensure your laundry routine is as environmentally friendly as possible!
We thought it was time to update you on everything Buy Land Plant Trees. We’re into our third season of planting at Low Fell and it’s been busier than ever!
